Kelly Brehm . Cherry Valley Elementary PTO Vice President and child

I volunteer for my son's school PTO because I recognize the crucial role of parental involvement in shaping a positive learning environment. Collaborating with the school, teachers, and other parents directly impacts the students by fostering a sense of community, providing additional resources, and supporting educational initiatives.

I can contribute to creating a well-rounded educational experience that benefits all students and strengthens the school community. Volunteering helps me feel more connected to my child by offering insight into their daily school life and experiences.

By actively participating in school events and initiatives, I can better understand his interests, challenges, and achievements, fostering stronger bonds and communication between us. It also provides opportunities to share meaningful experiences and create lasting memories together, enriching our relationship both within and beyond the school setting. It also provides me with valuable opportunities to get to know not only my child's friends and classmates but also their teachers, staff, and other parents.

By engaging in various school activities and events, I can build relationships with the broader school community, gaining insights into my child's social interactions and academic environment. This involvement allows me to support my child more effectively, collaborate with educators, and create a supportive network that enhances our overall school experience.

One of the key motivations for my involvement in my child's school PTO is to ensure that all students, regardless of their home environment, have access to a supportive and enriching school experience.

By actively planning and executing school activities, we can create an inclusive environment where every child feels supported, engaged, and valued. These activities offer more than just fun; they provide opportunities for students to develop social skills, discover new interests, and build relationships outside of the classroom.

For many students, school may be their primary source of stability and support, making it essential to offer a wide range of activities that cater to diverse interests and needs. Through our collective efforts within the PTO, we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child has the chance to thrive and experience the support, fun, and opportunities they deserve, both within and outside of school hours.
