Students learning about World War 1

It's not everyday that students can step out of their classrooms and into another world, but that is exactly what some Auburn, East and Guilford High School students were able to do last month.

US History students experienced what World War I would have been like at Midway Village by interacting with museum volunteers and local re-enactors. Students were able to ask questions, see displays, take part in demonstrations, and cover their ears as rifles, pistols and a mortar shell were fired at the end of their trip.

This field trip brought history alive for US History students and encouraged their imaginations to think deeper about the topics studied in class.
